It is a place of pure untouched beauty and is best seen and experienced from the water on our comfortable, 20-seater pontoon boat. You will be guided and accompanied by our experienced skipper who is a born and bred “Hoedspruiter” with a wealth of knowledge and passion for the canyon.

Important Information

Things you need to know

We always put our guest’s safety first! We have SABS and SAMSA approved life jackets available on board for all our guests. Please note that any guest under the age of 12 will be required to wear a life jacket. Guests over the age of 12 will be given a choice of wearing a life jacket.

All guests on school trips will be required to wear a life jacket – regardless of their age.

Our boat undergoes an annual SAMSA safety check, as well as a pontoon safety, check every two years as per SAMSA regulations.

Our skippers are endorsed for vessels over 9m and are also qualified and experienced in First Aid and Fire Fighting. A first aid kit is available onboard for any emergency.

Blyde Canyon Safaris has public liability insurance – we have got you covered!
We regret to inform you that we do not allow children under the age of two (2) years on the trip

We do not allow any alcohol on the boat for our regular trips. Private trips may bring a reasonable number of alcoholic beverages.
